Hello, welcome, and thank you for visiting my website!
Like many artists, I’ve been drawing for longer than I remember. Like many younger siblings, I was heavily influenced by my older brother. Time to point blame. He started it!
My brother was quite possibly the most creative person I have ever known. I wanted to do everything he did. In hindsight, I must have been a cute kid. Picture me trying to break dance at 7 years old, skateboarding at 8, heavy metal at 9… Okay, maybe not so cute!
Point being, somewhere in the span of my childhood, my brother made his greatest contribution by introducing me to comic books. In particular… wait for it… Marvel’s Savage Sword of Conan. Didn’t see that one coming, did you?
That was the spark that really led me into dreaming about becoming a comic artist for most of my childhood. I loved creating new characters (aka superheroes) and designing their clothing and powers. I would create characters based on my friends. It was good times, but my teachers hated me.
After high school, I moved out of state while trying to figure out what I was going to do with my life. I started exploring other art media such as painting, sculpture, and animation.
However, this is where things take a dramatic turn. After a series of events, I found myself learning computer programming and fell hard for the logic induced high of creating websites. I didn’t completely abandon art though, it was a useful skill to give my career an added edge. Writing code did, however, take over as my primary driving force, pushing my art to the back seat.
It did take a while, but eventually, I managed to burn myself out on web development and after spending years trying to keep up with my business.
I finally concluded that I needed a new career. I needed to flip the script and make art my primary driving force and push web development to the back seat. Revenge!
It has been a long road to get where I am today, and I am proud to announce that I am following my childhood dreams of pursuing an art career. My goal is to make a solid attempt at documenting my journey as I change careers, build my brand, and become a full-time content creator as an artist.
